Thursday Movie Picks: Movies Set in High School or Secondary School

It feels like centuries since both the last time I updated my blog and participated in Thursday Movie Picks. So, howdy everybody! Welcome to the Thursday Movie Picks! Thursday Movie Picks is a weekly of film recommendation from certain theme. It's hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. If you want to participate in this series or look for recommendation, please click here.

As you can see, this week's theme is Movies set in High School or Secondary School. I'm pretty excited for this theme, but I'm not sure that my list is unique. But...whatever

Pluto

I have problems with this film. Most of the actors seem like C-Class actors from crappy Korean dramas. You know, those actors who only can shout, make their eyes wide, gasp, etc. Hell, they seem to read their dialogue instead of saying it! The so-called antagonist is complicated (and I must admit he's not a typical antagonist), but he doesn't have depth. Or maybe he's a Joker-wannabe?

Problems aside, I really love the cinematography, the lightning, and the characterization of the anti-hero.

Death Bell

I know this is a pretty shitty film, but I REALLY enjoy it. Okay, I LOVE it. I enjoy cheap horror, thrill, and murders. And some of the victims are killed in rather...unique way, I think.

Sky High

Sigh, this film is downright clice that it's good! Can we have a DC-Marvel version of this film?

Okay, I have a love-hate relationship with this film. If I'm in my "critical" mode, I will bash this film passionately. But if I'm giddy, I will squeal when Will Stronghold teams up with the fire dude. I wish the villain was cooler though. Turning superheroes into babies? Come on dude, even January Jones' stoic Emma Frost is classierr than that!

Nevertheless, Sky High is enough for my high-school-for-superhero fantasy. For now.
